PRAYER REQUEST
WHAT IS PRAYER?
For me, prayer is a surge of the heart;
it is a simple look turned toward heaven,
it is a cry of recognition and of love,
embracing both trial and joy
St. Therese of Lisieux

ADORATION PRAYER CHAPEL

Established 1993

"The best, the surest and the most effective way of everlasting peace on the face of the earth
is through the great power of Perpetual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament"
Pope John Paul II

This site is dedicated to the Adoration Chapel in Basile, Louisiana
And to all the people that pass through it's doors to spend an hour with our Lord.
May the Lord pour his blessing on them and make our World a better place because of them.
This Perpetual Adoration is 7 days a week and 24 hours a day.

Dedicated also to all who come to bring prayer intentions for themselves, their families and friends.
All prayer request will be prayed for in front of the Blessed Sacrament in the Chapel.

COME INTO THE PRAYER CHAPEL
Come and pray with us

Jesus often went off to pray in a garden, even on the night of the last supper.
He and his disciples went off into the Garden of Gethsemani to pray.
He told his disciples "Sit here while I pray." Mark 14: 32-33

When he returned he found them asleep. He said to Peter,
"Simon, are you asleep? Could you not keep watch for one hour?" Mark 14: 37-38

"Prayer is the raising of one's mind and heart to God or the requesting of good things from God"
St. John Damascene

Only when we humbly acknowledge that "We do not know how to pray as we ought"
are we ready to receive freely the gift of prayer.
("Man is a begger before God." St. Augustine)

Christian prayer is a covenant relationship between God and man in Christ. It is the action of God and of man, springing forth from both the Holy Spirit and ourselves, wholly directed to the Father, in union with the will of the Son of God made man.

All these quotes were taken from the book "Catechism of the Catholic Church",
Part Four, Christian prayer. (page 613) It says so much about prayer as a gift,
so if you have the book please take the time to read all that section on prayer.
