Born and brought up in Tezpur, Assam, the North East of India, in a christian family, I used to go to church once in a while, used to read the Bible because my parents wanted to do that every evening. I never understood a word nor tried to understand and did not really want to understand. All I knew as a Christian was that 25th December was Christmas, Jesus Birthday and you get to have a gala time and somewhere in april was Good Friday the day Jesus was crucified and the following Sunday Easter.Life went on as usual until I reached college which was a real new experience …away from parents and their observing eyes…..I had my freedom…freedom to do what I liked…and I did freak out . In college I got an opportunity to come to Bangalore for studies. Took the offer without even consulting my parents and much to their disappointment forced them to send me here to Bangalore.
Boy Boy..you ask me if my eyes popped out when I reached here ?? I was like in a new world…I was completely taken by the fastness of the city and its “BEAUTY”.While at college I got into all sort of habits and bad company, and went into all kinds of stuffs.
During my college days I came in touch with a group of people who used to read the Bible and studied it. ( Always wondered what there was in studying the Bible full of stories..) They invited me to their group and slowly i too was drawn to their reading of the Bible |
