Something You Didn't Know About... Stacy Keibler Raw Magazine January 2002 Stacy Keibler--who started dancing and modeling at age 4--has appeared in a few dozen movies, commercials and television shows. "Dancing led to modeling, (which led to) acting," said Keibler, 22. "It just all kind of runs together." At age 8, Keibler earned her Screen Actor's Guild (SAG) card--an important accomplishment for aspiring actors--and she has been a member ever since. Besides 2001's Bubble Boy, most of the movie work Keibler has done has been an extra. She has appeared in blockbusters like Sleepless in Seattle, The Pelican Brief, True Lies and Clear and Present Danger. Other flims have included Pecker, The Firm, Broadcast News and Liberty Heights. On television, she has appeared on The West Wing, Her commercials have included ones for ESPN The Magazine, Vicks 44 cough syrup and the American Paralysis Association. The Baltimore native has had the opportunity to meet some of the most famous actors in the world. In Clear and Present Danger, she hung out with Jack Ryna himself, Harrison Ford. "I was the only child in the scene, so he would talk to me and we'd socialize," Keibler said, "And on the set of The Pelican Brief, I got to go in Denzel Washington's trailer, take pictures with him and talk to him." While she didn't meet Arnold Schwarzenegger on the set of True Lies, she saw him. Seven years later, she saw him again--in the audience at the August 7, 2001, taping at SmackDown! in Los Angeles. "Just the fact that he is in the crowd watching the show that I'm in, it's crazy," Keibler said, "When you find out that celebrities and movie stars watch the show, hat they're fans, it's kind of cool to know that you're entertaining them on their days off." Keibler broke in to the sports-entertainment business when she won a contest to become the newest Nitro Girl, the troupe that performed during WCW telecasts. She hoped that the exposure would further her acting career. But she has since fallen in love with sports-entertainment and says she has no intention of leaving for Hollywood. "I will always have an interest in acting and entertaining. No matter what I'm doing, I think I'll be in the entertainment field," she says "I hope that in the future (I can be) like The Rock, for example. He's made movies, but his roots are here and he returns to the WWF after filming ends. On his days off, he might be in L.A. filming commercials and movies. If I had the opportunity to do both, I would take it and run with it. That would be the best of both worlds." --- Phil Speer |
