History of the
University of St Andrews Alumni Club of New England
July 22, 2002
July 22, 2002 marks the first meeting of St Andrews Alumni in New England. Sheila Bautista '99 organized the event, and Jennifer Dumas, Director of Development and Alison Punnett, Alumni Relations came from St Andrews especially for the event. Over 60 alumni and friends of the University came to Kitty O'Sheas in Boston for a wonderful opportunity to see familiar faces and make new acquaintances. It marked the first organized event of the new club.

Karen Walls '88 recorded the event with her camera. Not all of those present were included, but a majority were.

A great group met at the historic Last Hurrah Pub of the Omni Parker House! Some of us just thought that we were meeting to drink and to get to know each other better, but, thanks to Ian Muth, we got down to business and discussed our goals and plans for the new club. Some great ideas came to mind and you may view the results on the Club Minutes page. As nothing official has been decided as a whole group, there is ample opportunity for you to voice your ideas and concerns. Please do send me your comments! staforlife@yahoo.com

St Andreans joined forces for charity by raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The Light the Night walk around Boston Common was alot of fun as we walked carrying a saltire and heard bagpipes! After the walk, we went to the Last Hurrah for refreshments - what a wonderful wine that was! An extra special thanks to Sarah and Paul Hoffman for their participation (and Ian Muth for trying!) Plan on a repeat performance next year!
