Our Integrated Studies Unit of Work for Term 2, 2004 is entitled:

I'm a Lean, Keen
Learning Machine!

This module aims to promote the total well-being of mind, body. soul and spirit of the children in years 3, 4 and 5. We will focus on their physical health, positive attitude to learning and making healthy lifestyle choices. Learners will co-operatively create a physical game to share with their peers and evaluate its effectiveness. They will create a healthy eating plan for themselves and partake in a range of healthy choice activities. Throughout this module, the children will continually evaluate themselves as learners and investigate ways to help them become more responsible learners.

Students will co-operatively design a rubric on what makes a good game in order to assess and create a simple game  which must include rules and a set of instructions. The games will be shared and celebrated on the Queensland Day celebrations.

Students will collaboratively create a rubric to assess the overall effectiveness of each game.

Students will create a healthy eating plan, using a Guide for Healthy Eating and will use this criteria to evaluate a peer's eating plan.  Design and presentation of the plan is individual.

Students will  work together in small groups to produce and perform an item for an audience.

Students will evaluate their own learning each day following a set of criteria or a focus each week.  The student as a learner journal is used for this purpose.
