| Minutes of the Stahl Family 2001 Reunion |
The 11th Annual Stahl reunion kicked off at 1:00 at the home of Jennie and Jim Harman on August 19, 2001 with 42 attending. We began the gathering with all holding hands in a large circle and Jennie asked the blessing. Following the meal, the business meeting was chaired by Janet Shrider. Jennie Harman read the minutes from the 2000 reunion and Joyce Marriott was secretary. Announcements were as follows: Weddings: Melinda Myers and Dan Keller, December 29, 2000 New Additions: John Riley, born October 17, 2000 to Peggy and Rob Ross Logan Benjamin born April 6, 2001 to Jodi and Todd Harman Death: Don Marriott, January 1, 2001 A collection netted $49.00 with a carry-over of $184.51 (after expenses), making a balance of $233.51. Information was passed out concerning the Stahl Website via Jane Cravens for Peggy Ross. Everyone who has visited the Website commended Peggy for the great job she does with it. If you have information for the site, including pictures, please send them to her. Her E-mail address is: robpegross@msn.com. She likes to have new items for updating to keep it interesting, so we all need to contribute. Family news, pictures and recipes are most welcome. Discussion for next years reunion was held. The Risingsun Park was suggested and June Stevens volunteered to reserve it. The gathering date was moved to the first Sunday in August which is August 4, 2002. As usual, gather at 12:00, eat at 1:00 p.m. Game planners will be Janet Shrider and family. Following discussion of next years date, Janet apologized about changing the date for this year. It resulted in Nancy and Kenny missing the reunion. Several others weren’t able to make it, either, so it will be as announced: August 4, 2002, come rain or shine. Janet also announced that she would be glad to do a newsletter if people will send information to her. Not everyone has a computer to access the Website. The meeting adjourned and was turned over to Jane Cravens. She had some interesting games, with Bill Kohowski and Janelle Pistro winning prizes. Jane presented Jenni Harman with a recipe book for our appreciation for having us at their home. Longaberger “Fresh from the Pantry”. Janet Shrider won a prize for coming the farthest. Arden Stevens needs to know how many would like to play golf at least three weeks in advance for next year. Men and women together. There were only two that played this year at Ottawa. He needs to have the information so he can make connecting tee times. Let’s get something going here, folks. Margaret told us that Jan Stahl has had surgery for cancer of the tongue. She has lost ninety percent of the tongue. Margaret asked everyone to write a note and she would send them to her along with a picture of the group. A card was passed around for people to send her their love. We wish her the very best and a quick recovery. LATE BREAKING NOTE: The Risingsun Park was not available, so the 2002 Gathering will be at the Wayne Park, the place where this all began. Hope to see you all there! |
| Okay, I realize this is OLD stuff. The 2003 reunion did not happen, and I thank Jennie for trying to resurrect it for 2004! Please try to make it, our reunions may not be glamorous but it's the best tie we have to our extended families! |
