Davey Boy Smith

    Davey Boy is one of the most recognized of Stampede greats. He is a friendly and strong  individual. He formed one of the best tag teams of all time, The British Bulldogs, with the Dynamite Kid and has wrestled with and against some of the best in the world.
    Davey has competed in Calgary, Japan, Europe and in both big federation, the WWF and WCW. His greatest successes so far have come in the WWF, with both single and tag team titles. His last stint in the bigs came with the WCW, where he injured his back.
    Davey is currently back in the WWF and working with Stampede behind the scenes.

Chronology:

Early 80s:
Smith debuts at the age of 17 in England, teaming with Big Daddy Shirley Crabtree and tourning
Europe, Japan and South Africa. Smith joins the Ishingun faction in New Japan, where The Dymanite
Kid is also a member.

1982:
Smith captures the Stampede Mid-Heavyweight Title beating his cousin  The Dynamite Kid.
Smith and Bruce Hart beat Duke Myers and Kerry Brown for the Stampede Tag Titles.
August: Bruce Hart defeats Davey Boy Smith to take the Title. The Dynamite Kid and Duke
Myers beat Smith and Hart for the Tag Titles.

1983:
November: Smith and Bruce Hart defeated the Cuban Assassin and Francisco Flores for the
Stampede Tag Team Titles.

1984:
The Ishingun jump from New Japan to All Japan.
February: Danny Davis and Hubert Gallant beat Smith and Hart for the Tag Titles.
March: Smith and The Dynamite Kid beat Bad News Allen and the Cuban Assassin for the
Stampede Tag Team Titles.
June: Smith beats Bad News Allen for the Stampede Heavyweight belt.
August: The Tag Titles are vacated when Stampede Wrestling is sold to the WWF. The British
Bulldogs debut there soon afterwards.

1985:
The British Bulldogs debut in the WWF. They take Captain Lou Albano as their manager.
December: Kerry Brown beats Smith for the Stampede Heavyweight Belt.

1986:
April: The British Bulldogs beat the Dream Team (Brutus Beefcake and Greg Valentine) to win
their first WWF Tag Team Titles.
Summer: Lou Albano leaves the Bulldogs to pursue an interest in movies.

1987:
January: The Hart Foundation (Bret Hart and Jim Neidhart) beat the Bulldogs for the Tag Titles.
The Harts manager Jimmy Hart bribed referee Danny Davis to get the titles.
March: The Bulldogs lose to the Hart Foundation and Danny Davis at Wrestlemania 3. The Bulldogs
take some time off soon afterwards.
Autumn/Winter: The Bulldogs return to the WWF.

1988:
November: The Bulldogs return to the Stampede Area.
December: The British Bulldogs beat The Cuban Commandos (The Cuban Assassin and Jerry Morrow)  to win the Stampede Tag Team Titles. Makhan Singh and Vokkan Singh beat the Bulldogs two weeks later for the titles. Dynamite attacks Smith after the match, blaming him for the title loss.

1989:
January: Smith begins feuding with Dynamite, who teams with Smith's cousin Johnny Smith to form The British Bruisers.
March: Smith beats Don Muraco to capture his second Stampede Heavyweight Title.
April: Larry Cameron beats Smith for the Heavyweight Title.
December: Stampede Wrestling folds. Smith heads to Japan to rebuild his career.

1990:
Autumn: Smith returns to the WWF after increasing his strength. Formerly a high-flyer, he now uses a power and technical based attack.

1992:
October: Smith beats brother-in-law Bret Hart for the WWF Intercontinental Title at Wembley Stadium in London. He loses the title later in the month to Shawn Michaels, who beats him on the last Saturday Night Main Event.
December: Smith tours Japan and wrestles in the ECW.

1993:
Smith leaves the WWF for WCW. He begins teaming with Sting, and recieved WCW World Title matches against Big Van Vader.
July: Smith ends up in a real fight in Calgary defending his wife Diana. He leaves the WCW afterwards.

1994:
August: Smith returns to the WWF, where he allies himself with Bret Hart against Owen Hart and Jim Neidhart.
November: Smith forms a tag team with Lex Luger, known as the Allied Powers.

1996:
January: Smith and Shawn Michaels are left as the last two men in the Royal Rumble. Michaels wins the match.
Spring/Summer: Smith takes Jim Cornette as a manager and gets some World Title shots against Diesel and Bret Hart. Smith begins tagging with Owen Hart.
September: Smith and Owen Hart beat The Smoking Gunns for the WWF Tag Titles.

1997:
February: Smith beats Owen Hart in the finals of a tournament to become the first WWF European Champion.
April: Smith joins a reformed Hart Foundation with Bret and Owen Hart, Jim Neidhart, and Brian Pillman.
May: Smith and Hart lose the Tag Team titles to Steve Austian and Shawn Michaels.
September: Shawn Michaels beats Smith for the European Title.
November: Smith leaves the WWF with Neidhart and Bret Hart for the WCW.

1998:
January: Smith and Neidhart debut in the WCW and begin teaming.
October: Smith feuds with fellow European Alex Wright.
Winter: Smith injures his back after being slammed on a trap door underneath the ring, put there for the Warrior. This ends his career with WCW, and he takes a leave of absence.

1999:
Spring: Smith has surgery on his back. His contract is terminated with WCW, whom he files a law suit against, claiming he was not told about the trap door.
August: Smith re-signs with the WWF.
September: Smith makes his return to WWF in-ring action at Smackdown, beating the Big Bossman for the WWF Hardcore Title, which he then gives to Al Snow.
November: Smith beats D'Lo Brown for his second reign as WWF European Champion
December: Smith loses the title to Val Venis in a three way match with also featured D'Lo Brown.

2000:
January: Smith returns to the WWF after a short absence and attacks Steve Blackman with a cane.
May: Smith returns again to the WWF, beating Crash Holly for the Hardcore Title in a UK only PPV called Insurrexion. He loses the belt back to Crash Holly the next week.
Summer: Smith returns to Calgary to rest and treatment for his addiction to painkillers. He is also involved in an motorcycle accident.
