But wait!!!!

A Puppy Poem

Thoughts To Think About While Holding The Cutest Puppy In The World.....

How much do I love thee? Let me count the ways:
Will I love you when you puddle for nineteen continuous days on that
gorgeous Indian blanket that my friends have all admired?
Will I love you when I find you on my pillow when you're tired?

Will I love your muddy paw prints when you chase a butterfly
from the garden through the kitchen when the floor wax isn't dry?
Will I love you when you're shedding and all day I vacuum hair?
When in digging you demolish ten begonias raised with care?
Will I love you just past midnight when I let you out and then
I let you in...then let you out.... then let you in again?
Will I love you when you're lunching on a twenty dollar shoe ?
(True you didn't touch the other, but I sort'a needed two.)

Will I love you as I pay the vet for binding that nasty little gash
you got while decorating the lawn with all our trash?
Will I love you when you're sandy, dripping water from the beach
as I chase you 'cross the carpet and you stay just out of reach?

At these times let me remember how cute you look today
and sigh and tell myself ---- I love y
ou anyway.

Adopting a pet is a life long commitment - you are, from that point on
-----
Responsible -----

PLEASE.....SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR PETS !!

Consider this:
- In 6 years, 1 female dog and its offspriing can be the source of 67,000
puppies.
- In 7 years, 1 female cat and its young ccan produce 420,000 cats.
- 70,000 puppies and kittens are born everry day in the USA alone.
Compared to only 10,000 human births, it's clear that there will never
be enough homes for all these pets.
- Almost 8 million pets are euthanized eacch year because there are no
homes for them.

Letting your pet have just 1 litter does cause pet overpopulation. All
euthanized pets came from just one litter.

Did you know this?
- Spayed and neutered pets are better, morre affectionate companions.
- Spayed and neutered pets live longer, heealthier lives.
- Spaying eliminates the possibility of utterine or ovarian cancer.
- Spaying before the first heat cycle greaatly reduces the chance of
breast cancer.
- Neutering reduces the incidence of prosttate cancer and disorders.

Think it's okay because your pet is a purebred? So is 1 out of 4
animals
brought to shelters. There are simply too many cats and dogs -- mixed
AND
purebred.

Why not make your next pet a shelter rescue???????

Ah, but your heart set on a particular purebred and your shelter doesn't seem to get in any of that particular breed.  Before you head down to a pet store to adopt the pet of your dreams
-STOP-
The majority of pet store puppies and kittens come form puppy mills, some from back yard breeders, none from reputable breeders.

Reputable breeders care about the dogs or cats they breed.  They breed only the best of the best, the best in health, the best in temperament, the best in standards.  Prior to breeding their furbabies they have them checked by a vet to be certain they are free of disease and genetic defects.  They care about the  homes their puppies and kitten  go to.  None of this is true with puppy mills nor the back yard breeders that sell to pet stores.

What is a puppy mill REALLY like???

If you buy that puppy or kitten from a pet store, not only do you run a greater risk of it being in ill health or having genetic defects that will effect it's  health later in life - you help to condemn it's parents and others just as sweet as it is to a life of pain and suffering.

Still want a particular breed?  Seek out a reputable breeder.  It is likely that the price will be equal or less than a pet store and you will have a far greater chance of getting a puppy or kitten that is healthy, free of genetic defects, and well socialized.

How to Find a Quality Puppy and Reputable Breeder

If you have a really big heart and lots of love to give…………
How about contacting a animal rescue group.

Rescue groups take in puppies and kittens to senior adults.  They obtain these furbabies for many different reasons, from the well bred, well cared for, much loved  little guy who's owner has passed away to the puppy mill rescue, who is in desperate need of being loved.  Most rescue worker will work with you to help you find the perfect furbaby for you.
