**Through my Eyes**

I am CANADIAN, most people can tell,
But today I am proud to say I am AMERICAN as well.
A tragedy occurred, just the other day.
Thousands of lives, just blown away.

To my native Province, Americans had seemed,
Stereotypically arrogant, and especially mean.
I told them it was false, I found out when I moved.
And September 11th, my views were proved.

I watched on T.V, with tears in my eyes.
Why must this nation be filled with cries?
Struggling to find somebody to blame,
Government, Military, opinions aren’t the same.

But our president finally acts truthful and strong,
And in the White House is where he must belong!
How could the military have possibly known?
If they did, to their rescue they would have flown.

I know one of ours, was surely at fault.
But don’t you think his lesson was taught?
Can you imagine this poor person they’ll blame?
Even if his heart overflows with shame?

But proudly the Americans their flags they show.
On shirts, cars and every window.
I know some people laugh, it is true.
But they don’t know the Americans, the way that I do.
