Bulgarian Phonetic Keyboard Layout

Old style phonetic layout for people with habits.

I've put this page for convenience of people who install new or reinstall their MS-Windows system and want to set it up for convenient work with Cyrillic. More precisely for those who for one reason or another are used to the so called phonetic keyboard and to install it resort to "kirilizatori" which in practice only create more problems. Windows has everything necessary to work with Cyrillic and Bulgarian. On the problem with the "kirilizatorite" can be read more on the site of Eng Genadi Atanassov. He also has provided similar phonetic layout driver, but different people have been talk of problems with its use, at least under Windows XP, so I decided to make this alternative.

Those used in BDS arrangement already have everything you need delivered to them by the operating system and do not need this driver, but he is only supplement, not modify or delete any existing and would not impede their work if it installed. Indeed it would be necessary in an environment where a computer has multiple users with different preferences (what is a home / family computer). If need be uninstalled driver easy and convenient control panel as usual.

To compile a driver using Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator, which can be downloaded free from the Microsoft site. The program requires Windows 2000/XP/Server 2003/Vista and generates the appropriate drivers for these systems (both 32-bit, and for 64 -bit versions). Write me if you encounter problems with its use to update the information here.

You need to accept that I do not carry any liability for direct or indirect damage or loss resulting from the use of this driver - use it on your responsibility. You can modify and distribute the file you want as long as it does not involve my name, i.e. you can not distribute the driver as he received here, because it is written my name - the easier it is to compose your own with the help of Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator. You're encouraged to use links to this page in other documents.

Installation

Unpack file in a temporary directory, run setup.exe file and follow the instructions. After completion of installation can delete temporary unpacked files. The layout itself is set up for use through the Control Panel:

[ Regional and Language Options dialog ] [ Text Services and Input Languages dialog 1 ] [ Add Input Language dialog 1 ] [ Add Input Language dialog 2 ] [ Text Services and Input Languages dialog 2 ]

Note that if you have set up two Bulgarian layouts (normal and phonetic), you can not switch between them with the standard Alt + Shift (switch between languages), and you need Ctrl + Shift (switch between different layouts for the current language).
