July 2006: summer is finally here!  I think I'm already starting to notice a growth spurt like I experience every summer.  I'm looking forward to better health, better weather and enjoying life!  I'm starting to really enjoy playing around with various styles for my long hair.

My first braid.  It's pretty messy but I'm determined to learn how to braid properly.  I'll probably post at least one braid pic every month to monitor my skills.

I did a hike through the Great Gulf Wilderness.  It totaled 18 miles, skirting the summits of Mt. Jefferson, Mt. Adams and summiting Mt. Madison.

Crossed two of these suspension bridges.

The first third of the hike followed this beautiful river.

Some parts of the trail were so steep that ladders were tied to the rock face.

First attempt, braid not centered properly.

Second attempt, better but I have a long way to go to perfect it.

Today marks the first time I've made a halftail braid on myself.  I really like this style.  I find it very reminiscent of Lord of the Rings type of looks.
