History:

J’k’b of Dav’Port was born to K’trina of Dav’Port, on the planet Xenex in the city of Dav’Port on the 31of Oct 2331. His sister N’moi would join the family less then 14 months later, no father would be present. Xenex was under the brutal rule of the Danteri. It should also be noted Captain Mackenzie Calhoun (M’kn’zy of Calhoun) came from the same planet. J’k’b was the man of the family from an early age, stealing food, and items that the family needed. At age 10, J’k’b had his first run in with the Danteri, when he was caught stealing from one of the warlords. He was beaten for three days, and when he was finally able to return, his mother worried that he would not survive. He had a cut from his ear to his neck, a scar still remains, some parts deeper then the other. It also left him with a hearing loss of 25% in his left ear. It was two weeks before J’k’b would be able to move comfortably. K’trina warned her son not to go out again and bring the wrath of the Danteri down on himself again.

J’k’b would heed this warning for less then 6 months, when once again he would venture out, stealing food for his family. But this time he would be more careful, and not get caught. When J‘k‘b was 16, K’trina was kidnapped, raped, and killed by a Danteri warlord, leaving J’k’b alone, angry and in charge of his sister. J’k’b was determined that nothing would happen to his sister, and would revenge his mother’s death. On the year anniversary of his mother’s murder, he left K’trina in the safety of friends, and snuck into the warlord’s house and killed him. He escaped, and took K’trina to the surrounding city of Calhoun where he met and was befriended by M’k’n’zy. Though M’k’n’zy was two years younger then J’k’b, M’k’n’zy was well into leading a rebellion against the Danteri and freedom for Xenex. M’k’n’zy would give J’k’b a command of a strike vessel, which would start his love of flying. By the time J’k’b was 21, Xenex was liberated.

J’k’b would represent the providence of Dav’port when representatives of the Federation, led by Captain Jean-Luc Picard of the Stargazer came to assist in negotiations between the Xenex and Danter. M’k’n’zy would represent the providence of Calhoun. J’k’b, though angry, was able to contain it better then M’k’n’zy. It would be J’k’b’s first contact with humans. Picard convinced both M’k’n’zy and J’k’b to join Starfleet. The people of Xenex was not happy about this. The Stargazer left some members of the crew on Xenex to continue negotiations, including Lt (JG) Thomas Edwards. N’moi would fall for the young Lt, and would marry him. She would leave Xenix a year later with Edwards, right before the birth of her first child.

J’k’b would enter the Academy and officially become Jacob Davenport, leaving Xenix behind now that his sister was no longer there. His first year roommate would be Alan Dulles. The two would find they had similar backgrounds and Alan would try and keep Jacob’s anger under control, though sometimes that was impossible. Jacob’s first two years at the Academy would be marked with reprimands for fighting. During the summer of his second year, with the threat of being expelled from the Academy, J’k’b decided that he needed to focus his anger on something else. He started getting heavily into physical exercise, something that he still continues today. Another change that he made, is put in blue contacts, to cover his violet eyes, something he continues to this day. J’k’b would return to the Academy with a new attitude, and throw himself into his work. Before, where he didn’t know what major he wanted, he would decide on piloting, helm, and first contact negotiations. He also joined the Starfleet track team and became a star there.

After graduation, Jacob’s first assignment was the USS Branson, as night shift helm officer, at the rank of Ensign and taking correspondence courses and talking with First Contact Specialists. In 2360, he applied and got accepted into a First Contact Specialty Class on Vulcan. The class, which was a year long, was intense, but very worthwhile, and Jacob excelled in it. Ever since negotiations on his home planet, he was interested in first contacts and participating in them. After completion of the class, Jacob would get a chance to put into practice what he learned. He was assigned as a member of the first contact/observation team for Jamail IV. The first year it would be total observation, with no interference and reports back to Starfleet Command. The 2nd year, it would be actual first contact, but not as Starfleet Officers, but as members of the Jamail IV colonies. After 3 months of living among the residents of the planet, the Federation team leaving and making recommendations to make themselves known to the colonists. Jacob would return with two other members of the team to make actual First Contact. He earned his first of four first contact medals with this.

In 2364, promoted to the rank of Lt, he would be assigned to the USS Enterprise, under the command of Captain Jean-Luc Picard, the man who had encouraged him to enter Starfleet. He would once again become a nighttime helm officer, and a shuttle craft pilot. During this time, he would request to take the Bridge Certification test, which was approved. He would take it twice before passing it. In 2365, while he was serving on the Enterprise, the Enterprise made first contact with the Borg, earning him his 2nd first contact medal, one he is not proud of. In 2366, the Borg, led by Locotus of Borg, attacked the Federation at Wolf 359, destroying 40 ships. The Enterprise, late for the battle, was able to defeat a lone Borg ship on it’s way to Earth.

Jacob would learn that his sister, N’moi and her husband, Lt Commander Thomas Edwards both were killed on the USS Saratoga, leaving there 3 children orphans. At 35, Jacob, knowing he was the only family that these 3 children had left alive, asked for a personal leave of absence from Starfleet, to get to know his two nephews, Roman, 11, Nathaniel 9, and niece Peyton, 5. Nathaniel was badly injured during Wolf 359 and spent 3 months in a hospital in San Francisco. After his release, Jacob took the children to the Lost City of Atlantis to explore and rest. Jacob would formally become there guardian 5 months after the attack. In 2367, not ready to return to a Starship, or take the children on a ship just yet, he requested and got approved to a posting in San Francisco Diplomatic Corps. For a time he thought about leaving Starfleet and being a Diplomat, but decided against it. While he was at the Diplomatic Corps, he sat in on a few negotiations of rival fractions on warring planets. He earned an Act of Kindness award for his service. In 2368, he would return to Starship duty aboard the Baintree, where he would be second officer/shuttle craft pilot.

In 2374, Jacob was assigned to Marias 8, helping set up a Starfleet base. Roman who was now 19 was in his third year of Starfleet Academy. Nathaniel, now 17, would not accompany Peyton and Jacob to Marias 8, but join his brother at Starfleet Academy. Jacob and Peyton would become closer, now that it was just the two of them. Peyton made herself useful, helping in the hospital ward. In the beginning of 2375, Jacob would meet Joann “Jo” Kingsley, who would later become his wife. On an early morning run, Jacob met Jo, who was also running. They would run every morning, and have breakfast together. Two months after they met, Jo would invite Jacob and Peyton to dinner to meet her three children, Walter 9, Bianca 6, and Lucas 4. In the middle of 2376, Jo and Jacob would marry. Allan would serve as best man. Jacob was 43 at the time of his marriage. Two months after the marriage, Jacob was promoted to the rank of Commander, and transferred to Gamma Quadrant side of the wormhole, where he would receive his third first contact award and Wormhole expedition medal. He would serve for 8 months as Gamma Quadrant Commander of the wormhole, before he was transferred to San Francesco Starfleet Headquarters. Peyton, now 17, would enter Starfleet Academy. In 2378, Jo and Jacob would welcome Katrina Lillian Davenport on Christmas Eve. Jacob enjoyed being in San Francesco near most of his family.

In 2379, Jacob would be transferred to the USS Eagle, as first officer, then Captain. He is currently being transferred to the USS Victory as Captain for it’s four year mission. Jo is 8 months pregnant with there 2nd child together.

Personality:

Jacob is quiet, and a intense listener. Even though he can have a temper due to his upbringing, he has challenged it into athletic ability. His door is always open to any member of the crew and he is considerate of his crews opinions.

Special Notes:

Like most Xenixian’s he has an ability to sense when someone is lying, or going to make a violent move. It’s not telepathic or empathetic ability. It has helped him with first contact and negotiations.
