Virgo

VIRGO, 2004 starts with one foot very firmly planted in the past. After meeting some rather tough problems and challenges in December, the allure of returning to a scene which offers more fun and less trouble is very tempting. And why not? Travelling to somewhere that feels like home, though you may be an outsider, or picking up work contacts with a good friend, can give you the optimism you need to crack the challenges that reappear as January evolves. Indeed, the bonds of friendship may be just what you need to gain the confidence you need to get ahead. The challenge is for you to put your creativity on the line. To stand up in front of others and get your message across, even though you may feel you don’t know enough. To risk others judging you. You discover this month that you have an extremely good ally in this process, and this person will make it possible for you to overcome your doubts. You’ll find that a colleague – perhaps someone with exotic foreign connections – who is also in a transitional stage of his/her life, brings sudden opportunity your way. The foundations are laid for a good cooperative venture. The unexpected developments in relationships, which have been apparent since March last year – but recently died off somewhat – arise again in 2004 with renewed vigor. Virgos in partnerships benefit from giving their loved ones greater freedom of movement. Single Virgos can experience a sudden meeting with people from a very different environment. January 15 can be a key date in this respect. MORE ABOUT VIRGO... The sign of Virgo is ruled by Mercury. Physically it is related to the digestive system. It is said to have a feminine nature, and is therefore more reactive in its energy. As an Earth sign, it is connected with material things and practical manifestation, relating to work, the body and organisation principle. As a Mutable sign it is adaptable - and this manifests as a talent for discrimination and analysis. Planets in this sign express themselves in a perfectionistic way, and give rise to a tendency to both criticism and self-criticism. There is a drive to work hard and a strong motivation to be helpful and of service to others. The work principle is exalted, and there is a need to organise people socially in relation to work. There is a tendency to analyse everything and compartmentalise information. The rational mind is dominant, and greater balance could be achieved if the ability to allow fantasy and irrational impulses could be cultivated.
