LONG DAYS, LONG NIGHTS

My heart does ache
I yearn for a lover true
Once upon a time
I thought I had found you
But it was not a happy union
Even with you
I felt so alone
Even together we were apart
Long days went into long nights of dread
Only my children gave me solace
Never far away
Are my dreams
One day
Of finding the right someone
That special person
Who will love me
For me
Is that wrong
To want to be loved
LONELINESS

Loneliness is a sad state of affairs.
    Even though, I care deeply,
Few others know how to care.

    Among people sharing and caring
Is important.
But few know how to receive or give
Such honest feelings.

People have come to fear honesty—
Have come to fear the way toward peace.
Cynicism reigns supreme.

If only two people could totally
Be honest—Trust each other.
This world would be headed toward peace.

Loneliness is far from tranquil.
It only offers turmoil, tension, palpitations.

Honesty and trust in mankind can only
Bring the tranquil peace to roost
On this good earth of God’s and mankind.
