Sailor Scouts
Lyrics
On here you'll be given access to several pages
on this hit anime, shown only on Cartoon
Network. The show has 5 different seasons:
Sailor Moon, Sailor Moon R, Sailor Moon S,
Sailor Moon Super S, and Sailor Moon Stars. For now we can only see the first two seasons, but they have been put on hold. Right now Cartoon Network is currently running repeats of the 2 seasons.
The Latest News
Well the latest news is that there is no latest news. Nothing has been happening in the world of Sailor Moon since its been off Toonami. Sailor Moon S: Hearts Collection 5 is out on DVD. From what I can tell, I am very pleased with how well Pioneer is handling Sailor Moon S and SuperS. With this in mind, this is the only reason why people wants Sailor Moon Stars dubbed. Because once it's dubbed, Pioneer will most likely take over and put Sailor Moon Stars on DVD, both in dubbed and subtitled format, which does sound good. Anything new happening, and I will make sure to report it.
What is Sailor Moon?
Sailor Moon first originated in Japan, back in 1992, as a primetime show directed towards young adults. Created by Naoko Takeuchi, Sailor Moon lasted 5 long years on Japanese Network. In that 5 years, the show has went through 200 episodes, 4 specials, and 3 movies (which is now subbed and dubbed, both on video and DVD). Sailor Moon is a show about a group of teenage girls with special powers who fight against the forces of evil. It is my understanding that the series was based off the manga (graphic novel) version of the hit show, also created by Naoko Takeuchi. In 1995, the first two seasons (minus 7 episodes which were skipped) were brought over to the U.S. hoping to boost the popularity of the show over here, but that failed. Then in 1997, Cartoon Network started airing these episodes. The ratings went crazy as Sailor Moon was one of the top rated shows seen on Cartoon Network.
In late 1998, the last 17 episodes of Sailor Moon R were dubbed and finally released on Cartoon Network, which was known as "The Lost Episodes". After these 17 episodes were aired, Cartoon Network continued to air Sailor Moon in total reruns, but in order. This 82 episode rerun lasted for quite a while, almost 2 years to be exact, with no hopes of new episodes ever. But fans were somewhat relieved when a new company called Cloverway (C.W.I.) took over the rights and dubbed 77 more new episodes.
These episodes were from the Sailor Moon S and Super S series. Then on June 12th, 2000, the very first of Sailor Moon S was aired, promising to show 77 brand new episodes, including 2 (one from each season) episodes which were skipped but shown later during the second run of each season. First Sailor Moon S was shown, then repeated once. Now Sailor Moon Super S was shown, then repeated once as well. Now both seasons are in repeats, and in order, starting with Sailor Moon S, then Sailor Moon Super S. No word if the first 2 seasons will be on Cartoon Network anytime soon.
Though there is no words on if the final season of Sailor Moon (which is called Sailor Moon Stars) will be dubbed or not. Though many fans of the original hopes it won't happen, it has been only rumored that it will be dubbed, but don't take my word for it. Aside from all that, Sailor Moon has became one of the top selling anime's out there, not to mention one of Cartoon Network's top rated show. With everything that is out, I can see why it's so huge.
