Weird Hair
Ok, I'm a little strange when it comes to my hair. I don't get how people can have the same style for years and years and years. It just seems so boring! Well, I was pondering this one day, and I started getting ideas for very, uh, shall we say, unusual hairstyles. I have extremely thick, long hair, so I gave 'em a try...and this was the result. None of these pictures have been "touched up" or altered in any way...and no extensions, hairspray, or fake hair pieces were used either. Caution: this page is not for the faint of heart...

These were apparently popular on the fashion runway a year or two ago. They called them warrior braids or something like that.

Someone was talking about how you could get a mohawk-like look with long hair, so this is what I came up with.

I actually think it's kinda cool, might be a neat idea to wear out sometime.

This is the hairstyle Bjork (who is an Icelandic singer, for those who don't know) had on the cover of her cd Medulla.

Very interesting and challenging hairstyle. ;-)

The "Bride of Frankenstein" look: highly NOT recommended except for very short periods of time. This'll give you a killer neck-ache! To do it I taped a tupperware container to a water bottle, to make the whole do stand up, then wrapped my hair around it. Yeah, I know, I need a hobby...

Heehee...a hangman's noose. Sort of. I got the idea for this one from the cover of some horror movie, which I actually didn't see. If I had hair down to the floor, it would've been much easier.

This was *supposed* to be a french twist, but it looked so much like some weird sci-fi hairstyle that I put it here.

Same as above...kind of like a dinosaur's crest or something. :-p

Snake hair! For this one I braided my hair in 36 little braids. One time I did 54 braids, but it took a REALLY long time. But I had a lot of time on my hands because we were on a long car trip.

Another pic of the above.

The antelope look.

Pretty nuts, huh? I walked into the room with this one and my mom fell off her chair laughing. I had this big piece of packaging left over from a hat I ordered, so I just put it on my head and pulled the hair up around it.

I got the idea for this one from that Mountain Dew commercial with the bighorn sheep. :-P

I wanted to try one of those old 60's beehive styles. This was the result.

This wasn't my idea, it's actually the traditional Hopi Indian hairstyle for unmarried girls. It's called the squash blossom hairstyle.
