Part 22 - Windsprite // Saturday, August 14, 2004 // 09:31 p.m.

Kenta knew that this would be no problem as soon as he realized how many of the enemy force there were. “This’ll be easy!” he thought. All he would have to do is whack a few of the tribesmen, and then sit back and let “little-miss-super-guide” do all the work.

“Yup, no sweat” With that final thought, he heard Sola let out a mighty yell and charge in to the fray, managing to surprise more than a few. Kenta followed behind, and immediately began kicking, punching and headbutting the opponents, striking where he could with the cunning only someone who spent as much time on the street as he has could manage. He added a few jabs with his knife to punctuate his cries:

“Take that, you bag o’ bones! And that, you son-of-a-slug! And another, you dog trailing wart! …”

Then he saw Sola pause in her whirling attack to throw another of her daggers. After watching it strike its mark, Kenta quickly scooted over to scoop it up. “Heh, she’ll never catch me with this one! Why, it’d serve her right if she worried over it. ‘Oh, woe is me! Wherever could my precious dagger be?’ Pah!”

Just then, he turned his laughing gaze to Sola, who was looking from Terrin to what appeared to be the chieftain with a look of dismay. Terrin was literally shaking with terror as a dagger was held to his throat. The chief suddenly shoved Terrin to one of his nearest lackeys and started jumping and down waving his spear in the air, causing his headress to fall in front of his face, which he promptly replaced and pretended that "he meant to do that". He then spouted something at Sola in a quick, gibberish-like language, which of course miss perfect understood. Kenta was shocked when she dropped her weapons and started muttering to herself with that scowl of hers on her face. Kenta’s eyes bulged at the amount of weapons that she had been carrying around. “Where the heck did she fit THAT?!” he thought. Then she looked at him and he thought “you’ve got to be kidding me if you think I’m doing the same thing!”

He was just about to say so, but she seemed to sense his discontent as she leveled at him such a withering glare that he complied immediately, though with much scowling and muttering on his part.

Things where starting to cool down when the chief ordered them searched.

They took Terrin’s sword away, causing all in the group to wince slightly at the sight of such an important weapon in the hands of such horrible creatures. They found nothing on Sola, but she seemed to smirk when Kenta looked at her.

But when the came to Kenta, he realized he was in trouble. “Oh crud,” he thought desperately. “How’m I gonna get out of this…? They can’t have expected me to give ALL of my weapons away, could they? What if they boil me alive? What if they…” That was when they came up with a dagger… Sola’s dagger. “I’ll skin ye alive,” she muttered under her breath causing Kenta to wonder which was the worse fate: being captured by the savage tribe, or being left in Sola’s clutches.

That’s when things turned from bad, to worse.
