Part 4 - Windsprite // Saturday, June 7, 2003 // 04:22 p.m.
Terrin arrived at the city, tired, covered in dust and definitely hungry.
"Where am I gonna get some food?" he thought out loud as he wandered around the city.
The strangest people...or the closest term he could come to describing them, were here. There were those who were very short, stout, and tall, graceful ones, and some he couldn't even come close to describing. And they were all wearing strange clothing. Come to think of it, all the wares for sale looked like nothing he had seen before.
And it didn't seem as though he was the only one who thought something was strange. As he became more aware of his surroundings, he also became aware that most of the people were looking at him and whispering to each other:
"Look at his strange clothing!"
"What odd shoes he has",
"I've never seen hair like that before",
"Mommy, why does that boy look so weird"...
"What an ugly sword he's carrying!"
"What's going on here?" he thought. "Why is everyone looking at me?" Terrin was getting very upset, him being so tired, hungry, and dirty and all, so he started to run down the streets, gaining many more strange looks from those he passed by.
"What an odd boy..."
He only stopped running at a wonderfully pleasant smell. "What's that?" he wondered, looking around to locate the source - a bakery. "Oh! Food!"
Just then, Terrin heard a large commotion coming from inside the bakery, and then a boy sprinted out of the shop, pastry in hand and angry baker storming after him shouting accusations of robbery.
The boy wasn't paying much attention to where he was going, and before Terrin could stop him, the strange boy bumped right into him.
"You didn't pay for that!", Terrin said. |
