Part 7 - Windsprite // Saturday, June 7, 2003 // 06:31 p.m.
"Dungeons?!" Terrin gulped. "They actually have dungeons here?!"
"Quiet, thief!"
Terrin shut up, but fumed inside. 'How could this happen to me? Why do I have to come to this strange place and have all this bad stuff happen to me? If I ever see that Kenta again, I swear I'll-'
His thoughts were interrupted as he realized they entered the castle grounds. He never knew places like these existed except in storybooks. The guard steered him toward the gate house, where PigFace (as Terrin had decided to call him) greeted his fellow guard and told him what his business in the castle was. He then grabbed a ring of keys (one among many) off a hook on the wall.
"This way, brat. You won't be leaving here anytime soon!" PigFace chuckled.
That was when the other guard noticed the sword that Terrin was carrying. "Hey, you can't take that in here!" he said, taking hold of the weapon and instantly dropped it as though it were a snake. He recoiled in shock, for no reason that Terrin could see.
"I guess a ratty old thing like that can't do anything," he mumbled, rubbing his hand.
"Now, come along!" PigFace declared.
Terrin tried to struggle, but the guard was just to strong and he was taken through a door, and then down a creepy flight of stairs. As they went deeper and deeper underground, Terrin began to lose hope.
"How can this be happening to me?!"
At the bottom of the stairs, there was a long hallways, and on each wall was a uncountable number of cells. Hands were sticking out from the bars, waving around, trying to touch them, and Terrin was thoroughly weirded out.
"Please, let me out!" called one of the criminals.
"Save me!"
"Oh, please help us. I'll pay you well!"
The convicts went on and on, and Terrin could do nothing but shudder at the horror, realizing that he would have to stay in a place like this.
"Here's your cell," PigFace stated as they stopped.
He pulled out the set of keys from his pocket, unlocked the door, and shoved Terrin inside the dark, smelly, (and foodless) cell. |
