Eclectic Beliefs... Christian-Judeo Witches

"The Love Commandment"       When Jesus was here in His physical form He made a simple enough commandment, " You shall love your neighbor as yourself." This is found in Matthew 22:38 in the New Testament of the Christians Holy Bible.   Now if “Churchianity”, some of their so-called Christian religious leaders, and all the other grasping and tainted "Powers that Be" would leave well enough alone...our world would be a lovely peaceful place for all its inhabitants if we'd only follow this *One Commandment*.   If we all could and would just love our neighbors…meaning all people everywhere being our neighbors according to Jesus…as we love our self. What a concept huh? No harming them, gossiping, lying or slandering, no warring with them, just simply caring for them as we care for our own self.  As the Witches Rede states, “And it harm none”. What a truly awesome statement in its simplicity and honesty Jesus made. How sad that the Christian church over the centuries has so warped it and Jesus’ original ministry of Love and Acceptance. And my spiritual and ethical beliefs are this... how sad that so few of His "followers" get His message, to love and accept people as they are. For true change comes from the Divine and from within each and every one of us, not from sermonizing, building great edifices and monstrous buildings in the name of the Divine and then to these make these “churches” over into country club-like settings where only those “just like us” can come and worship as these people see fit. Nor from knocking on peoples’ doors, passing out tracts or by harassing people because of their various beliefs, lifestyle or sexual orientation. It comes from Love. Letting Jesus’ Love for All People flow through us. Not dressing up in fine clothes and attending services at all the pretty buildings on Sunday and Wednesday night, and the Youth groups going to the movies are not the answers for humankind’s ills, it is Love in Action. Jesus said, “The least you do unto these my brethren, you do unto Me.” So let us reach out to clothe the naked, feed the hungry, visit the ones in jails and in hospitals, the shut-ins and the shut-outs and care for the homeless. Next time look that person in the face, let us make eye contact and give them the fifty cents or dollar in our pockets. If it goes to drugs or alcohol, so be it. Though I am not in any way saying I condone alcoholism or drug abuse, I am also not any person’s judge and jury either. We are not here to be one others conscience's, Only the Divine is worthy to do that. We are merely vessels that are to be useful. So that we may be useful, be used by the Divine. Let the Love flow. You will be surprised by it and forever changed by letting Jesus’ words dwell within you, if you only allow yourself to hear them from  His true point of view.  Jesus was a Torah-observant Jew, He taught from the Torah (or Old Testament), it was not about legalism...it was all about LOVE. There was no church, except for people who loved Him and wanted to live like Jesus did. Unselfishly and with a greater purpose than merely existing. Jesus was so much more than what the churches want to make him out to be...I see him as a Teacher & Prophet. "I loved your web site… I just had a thought…something to ponder...You quoted the verse, Love your neighbor as you would love yourself...I think it is sad, but sometimes people do exactly that...let me explain...Did you ever hear the statement: "Hurt people hurt people?"  I take pity on those that treat others badly because simply they are not loving themselves, and unfortunately this is demonstrated in the way they treat others. I truly do pray for those troubled souls....because they need it."    ~Deborah
