Thank you for your interest in our family of adventurers. First a little more about us. Star Trek: Distant Horizons is a FREE, member run (everyone has an equal voice, no Council or governing body), PBEM (Play by E-Mail) writing forum that is open to players of all ages, and which as been exploring uncharted territories for the last two years. The main idea of this group is to bring people who share similar interests (namely a love of writing and Star Trek) together to have fun and enjoy an ongoing story in which everyone has an active role in creating. Another goal of this group is to share ideas and create a truly unique universe limited only by the combined imagination of the participants.

Members are asked to write at least once a week, although part-time players can do so less frequently. If able to participate more often, players are encouraged to do so, adding their unique twists to the story on a more frequent basis. So far the members of 'Distant Horizons' as a whole have managed to keep a posting rate of over 1 post per day for almost 2 full years, which means that the story never stands still with new twists being added on a regular basis.

Please note that there are at this time plans for the opening of a new RP ship (the USS HATHOR) and that additions to our family are not limited to the listed positions as we are always looking for new and interesting characters to join our family. Also since there is no Academy, you can start writing with us immediately after your character is approved. No long wait or agonizingly long and boring training, you get to jump into the action right away.
