Nu Vishnu is OUT NOW!!!
So, the new album is
here finally......
After
months of slowly putting the songs together via transferring the
individual tracks from my recording hard drive to wave files on CD so
that they could be worked on via the multi track, the fruits of our
labour are ripe and ready for your ears.
Produced by Robert
Atkinson, the album is 15 tracks that show the diversity of sound that
Starvingman are capable of.
From the silver sheen,
fast cars, fast women of "Chrome Aged" to the layers of atmospheres and
soundscapes of "Walls of Jericho" to the flavours of India on the title
track "Nu Vishnu".
This album comes after
the curtain closed on Starvingman. There are some moments of great group
brilliance as well as the odd moment of self indulgence. Each band
member has not been afraid to trade their instruments in the search for
diversity.
"The future's
uncertain but the end is always near" said Jim Morrison. You never know
what the future holds and whether we will play live again. We haven't
ruled it out, and there are vague plans to record again some time.
In the meantime, enjoy
the flava....................

Starvingman
will be playing it's final show in the
FRONT bar of the Waterloo Hotel cnr Ann Street and Commercial Road. The
band go on stage around 9:15pm. Last House On The Left will be playing
later on.

28-9-2004 -
On 4th August
2004, Starvingman have decided to call it a day due to the lack of
time availability and other commitments which were making it difficult for
the band to convene. The decision has been a mutual one by all the
members. All remain good friends and will continue to work with each other
on other projects and independently. Scully has the
Everdense and
Splyntaz projects,
whilst Steve is working on a new solo album.
The Barefoot Experience (Shane, Scully, and
Steve) have already written and recorded a handful of tracks. This project
should see an album and live presence soon. Watch this space...
As you would all
know, the band has been busy recording a new full length album for
release. The demise of the band puts a dark shadow over this release. We
are pleased to say that the final Starvingman album "Nu Vishnu"
is going to be released this year. At the present, Steve and Scully are
busy doing their vocals. Also, the album is going to be mixed by Robert
Atkinson, a long time musical collaborator/friend of Steve's. More
information as to track listings etc soon.

Utah 2 EP is released today!!!!!!
3-3-2004 -
At
last the long awaited Utah 2 EP is upon us. After numerous mixes and
discussions to get the sound as perfect a possible, Utah 2 is here.
Available Monday 9th March 2004.
Utah 2 was put together
relatively quickly by the band. Recordings were done at a cracking pace.
In all, this was probably our easiest recording to make given the
technology.

What can you expect?
Well, there is a bit of reminiscing from the Fast days, with a few songs
that sound like they could have made it onto that release being "Locum"
and "I'm Laughing". There is also "Discarded
Soul" which is a newer direction for us. 'My Good Omen' is a cracking
opener to the slab. "Eden" completes the puzzle leaving the listener
wanting more.

There is no resting for
the band as we are fully into recording the next full length album. Some
of the tracks have been demoed and writing continues to bring this dream
to reality. The results are yet to be fully determined. All we can say is
that this next one will be the full round trip. Exotic instrumentation, to
metal wall of sound, to ambience, to progression.
In the meantime, enjoy
the flava.... You tar too!!!!!
