HONEST QUESTIONS AND RICH TRADITIONS IN THE SERVICE OF CHRIST

Rector:  The Reverend Paul Fromberg
Vestry Senior Warden:  Paul Kirk

OUR NEW LOGO...The new logo for St. Andrew's represents three things.  First, it is in the form of a St. Andrew's cross.  According to tradition, Andrew was martyred by being bound to an X-shaped cross.  Next, the logo contains four fish.  The fish is one of the most ancient symbols of Christ.  This is because the five Greek letters forming the word "fish" are the initial letters of the five words:  "Jesus Christ God's Son Savior."  The fish also reminds us that St. Andrew was a fisherman. When he encountered Jesus, he went from fishing for fish to fishing for people.   So, we who follow in the way of Jesus Christ, after the example of St. Andrew, are called to fish for people, and bring many to friendship with God.

St. Andrew's Vision Statement:
St. Andrew's In The Heights

To invite and welcome all to become servants of the Lord and His church, to enjoy unity with Christ and each other, and to give glory to God.

We believe there is One God who creates all things, redeems us from sin and death and renews us as the Children of God.  As Episcopalians we promise to follow Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord.  We believe the mission of our church is restoration of all people to unity with God and each other in Christ.  We are enriched by your presence with us.

As you continue your journey, please remember St. Andrew's as a place of rest, restoration and reunion.  If you are searching for a place to worship regularly, we welcome you!

TO PRESENT JESUS CHRIST TO THE WORLD...

"Every institution must have a reason for being.   For St. Andrew's, an organic part of the body of Christ, that reason is not defined by ourselves but by the Lord whom we worship and who sets us on our course.  His last words on earth instructed us to make disciples, to baptize, and to teach.

Though we are far from perfect, we try hard to accomplish the work that we have been given.  In our task we call upon the rich traditions of our Anglican heritage, the fullness of Holy Scripture, the power of reason, and sacramentally based worship.  In all of these things we are dependent upon the grace of God, who makes it possible for us to reach beyond ourselves that we might become his worthy instruments."

-----The Reverend John E. Binford
Rector, St. Andrew's Episcopal Church
June 1978 - April 1999

With that in mind, we dedicate this website to His work.
