HOME STATIC CLING
FAMILY TREE
>   Formed in Chicago in 1979:
     -
Kim Draheim -- guitar & vocals
     -
Tony Erangey -- guitar & vocals
     -
Ed Camplin -- drums
     -  (some friend of Ed's) -- bass (fired after the first gig & replaced
         by
Randy Alber)
>   1980 -- Sound man and roadie,
Tom Townsend, becomes lead and
      backing vocalist.
>   1981 -- Tony leaves and is replaced by roadie Bill's little brother.
Don't remember his name but I do remember that he was a bag-boy at
a grocery store and that he was the regular bagger-of-choice of Kevin
      Cronin's mother.
>   1982 -- Tom leaves and the first version of
Static Cling falls apart.
>   1983 -- After a few false starts the New York version of
Static Cling gets underway:
     -
Kim Draheim -- guitar & vocals
     -
Cathi Lee Otis -- vocals & percussion
     -
Karen Lee Porter -- keyboard & vocals
     -
Frank Blanke -- bass
     -
Rick Rogers -- drums
>   1983 -- Rick moves away and we find our new drummer,
Chuck

Randall, at a flea market.
>   1984 -- Frank quits after playing a couple of parties and Chuck
      recruits his friend,
Eric Ott, on bass and vocals.
>   1986 -- Karen quits, we try playing as a 4-piece, don't like it and
      recruit
Jim Taylor on keyboards, guitar and vocals.
>   1989 -- Jim quits, we try playing as a 4-piece and like it better this
      time.
>   1990 -- Eric quits, replaced by
Mike Doyle on bass and backing
        vocals.
>   1994 -- Mike quits, replaced by
Steve Bennett who plays one gig.
     1994 --
Ron Shayler joins on bass and vocals.
>   1995 -- Chuck gets sick and is replaced temporarily by
Bob

Birmingham.
>   1996 -- Chuck is back but turns out not to be 100%.  Bob returns as
drummer but Chuck remains part of the band.  Chuck eventually
regains his stamina and continues to occasionally play and record
with the band as well as helping to produce and engineer both our
        recordings and our live sound.
>  1997 --
Static Cling becomes, simultaneously, The Skeleton Crew,
backing band of legendary singer, songwriter, Blue Oyster Cult
        lyricist,
Helen Wheels.
>   2000 -- Helen passes away.
>   2004 --
Jim Andrews joins the Static Cling family. Bob's having some
difficulties playing all scheduled gigs so Jim (from Ron's other band, The
Catatonix) and Chuck begin to fill in on a semi-regular basis. (Jim had played a
couple of benefits with us before back in '95)
>   2005 --
Tim Jennings picks out the lead guitar part to Glenn Phillips' "I Want to Talk to my Girl",
and  begins to play this song (+ a few others) out with
Static Cling on an occassional basis.
>   2006 -- Ron moves to Virginia, obviosly no longer plays with the band, but continues in many ways
          to carry the
Static Cling torch. Static Cling at this point has a number of auxiliary members -
folks who sometimes sit-in  &/or record with us. They include:
Dave Ansuini (bass), Tim
         Jennings
(guitar), Alan Birmingham (bass, mixing/production/engineering), Dave
         Henninger
(mixing/production/engineering, guitar), Glenn Phillips (guitar), Jim Andrews

(drums & percussion), John Reilley (sax & vocals), Al Anderson (guitar)and of course Chuck
         & Ron
remain members of the family.
