Shelton Peiris
Shelton Peiris is a senior lecturer in statistics at
the School of Mathematics and Statistics, University
of Sydney. He joined this department in 1990 after completing
his Ph.D. at Monash University in 1987. His current
research include the modelling and analysis of time series data,
applications of estimating functions, analysis of high frequency
data and tail probability approximations. This is his first year
as a council member. His main role in the council is to assist the
Statistical Education. He is the treasurer of the branch since September, 2003. Also he coordinates the following events of the branch:
1. Postgraduate Awards for Excellence in Statistics
2. Annual Dinner
