| These 2 pix show the 2nd cone's water hole. Balance is achieved by adding water to the cone for weight through the hole shown above. This is basicly how Mr. Hamel balanced the "Z" axis!! It also adds to the "dynamic" or "living" motion of the cones! |
| At left you can see one of the vertical adjustment slots for suspention ring adjustment. The slots were first drilled holes which were opened up vertically with a "saw drill". |

| These last 3 pix are of the drum's 13" extention, & the brackets made to hold it together. A sheet steel "skirt" is welded to the inside of the extention & fits tightly into the lower piece. Note the mechanical thermometer stuck to the drum, there will be several of these placed on the drum to closely moniter "shell temperature" (as per Mr Hamel's instructions)!!! |
