LIMINGTON CHURCH RECORDS:

Francis Small, Isaac Robinson, Amos Chase, Jonathan Boothby, Daniel Dyer and Asa Edmunds, inhabitants of the plantation which was incorporated on February 8, 1792, as the town of Limington, York County, Massachusetts (now Maine), met on Oct 11, 1789, and subscribed to the covenant of a Congregational church. The new church was without a settled minister until May 16, 1794, when Rev. Jonathan Atkinson accepted a call which had been given him on October 14, 1793. The first book of records of the church is a small leather bound quarto now in the possession of the Maine Historical Society.
