| I love this movie when I see Errol up there on the screen he really is John Barrymore I think he played this part perfectly. Jack L Warner say's "when we talked about casting the role of John Barrymore who literaly boozed himself into the grave, I thought immediately of Errol. Frankly; I missed his gaiety and taunting laughter and excitement he generated on the set. It was whilst making this movie he had to struggle through take after take, his face was very puffy and grey, the shimmer Had gone from his eyes. He was playing a drunk and he did not need any method systmn to get him in the mood. He was drunk "J L W" |
