| Steph and I first got to know each other in January 1999 by exhanging emails. Steph hadn't lived in Regina very long and he didn't know very many people so he was mostly just looking for new friends. After we started talking, we realized that we had a few things in common so we decided to meet for the first time at a Dairy Queen. We hit it off and went on our first date to the movies where we saw "John Carpenter's Vampires." After that, we started seeing each other more often and started dating. I turned 19 shortly after we started dating and we went out for my birthday with my brother. In May 1999, we took a trip to Ontario to visit his family and friends and moved in together shortly after. I was working part time nights and going to university full time while we were living together and Steph was working full time days. We had moved into a house that Steph bought in March of 2000 and I was working a lot and school was very stressful. We started to grow apart and we weren't communicating well and this lead to us breaking up in August 2000. I moved back home with my parents and he stayed in the house. In December 2000, exactly four months after we broke up, Steph contacted me to tell me he had gotten me a Christmas gift and he wanted me to pick it up. I agreed to see him and after talking for many many hours, we decided that we really did belong together. Steph and I started dating again in December 2000 and got engaged on March 17, 2001. We moved in together again in May 2001 and recently moved into a character home that was built in 1909. We also adopted a cat from the Humane Society that we named Minou. |
