One of Stephan's first professional debut's in Portland was as Terrence Calloway in a performance of Clive Barker's Sex, Death, and Starshine. The play, directed by David Sikking, was performed "verbatim" and added to the "Hallowed Eve's" spirit as the run ran through the month of October of 1996.
The headline for the review in The Oregonian proved that the fruits of the cast's labor was not in vain as it proclaimed: "'Sex' proves horrifically funny"
Another of Stephan's press releases was from Portland State University during the second year of his Master's Program. The article, which was printed in the Vanguard, focused on Stephan's journey as an actor playing the part of Calloway, as well as on his focus in becoming the character. Stephan, in his interview, reflected with this statement:
"It is really a story about the discovery of one's true passion, what is really important to someone, a discovery of love and art." |
