I think getting Germany probably clinched it. Good game though. I thought Rodolphe may have edged me on moves, but that I won the bidding, which gave me the advantage. If you fancy another game, I'll gladly play a rematch or see if one of the others in game 1006 wants to play.

I enjoyed this, my first game of intimate, immensely. My only regrets had to do with the bids as Stephen embarassed me again and again. I think the key turning point of the game was the 1903 bids... my opening gambit left me poor for '02, but not getting Germany for '03 left me with an uphill battle.
