This lighthouse once stood in the entrance to Marie Joseph Harbour on Trumpcap Island. When the government switched to automatic lights there was no need for a lighthouse keeper, so the lighthouses were torn down.

This picture was taken in the early 1960's as far as I can find out. James Richard Baker was the lighthouse keeper here for many years.
