Once again I must apologize for my lack of consistent updates. I'm really bad at doing this. So Winter Break has ended, and it seems that it has ended way too early. However, I had an awesome time just hanging out w/ my CBC buddies. It's sooo awesome to be able to just meet w/ everybody again. Thanks Jenny & Alice for hosting all those events at your place. I think I was at your house for more meals than everywhere else combined. (Not counting my own house)
Okay, so there was the Christmas Dinner at the Hwangs (great food, fun games, talked to some really cool people and played chems for 3+ hours? My brother is surprisingly good at that game. Then there was a new years thing at Jenny and Alices....it was supposed to be a girls sleepover at first, then it became a coed thing (guys downstairs, girls upstairs), yet oddly enough, there were more guys who stayed over than girls. Nick "stayed over", but left at 5:30 in the morning. Does that count?
So....the first day of the new year. I play tennis w/ my dad after buying a new (and awesome) racquet the previous evening from Jon Luo. Evidently it improved my serve (which isn't saying much because I'm terrible at serving), but my rallys and volleys really improved. Everything was going great until I swung as hard as i could at ball lobbed in the air and wiffed completely. Sadly, my story doesn't end there. I miss the ball completely, do a 360 degree turn in the air and land on the entire right side of my body. (Knee, Elbow, Face all got bruised up) Yet somehow, I sprained my left wrist. I'm weird like that. I should probably improve my athletic skills. It's not my fault for having a horrible sense of balance!
Okay, so I'm bleeding, limping to the car and there's the sharp jab in my hip. I wash the wounds, eat a quick dinner and sleep. Err....I tried to sleep w/o rubbing the bandages against my blanket and had to keep getting up. So...I somehow got 15 hours of sleep that night/morning/afternoon. (Probably from my lack of sleep at Jenny and Alice's the previous day)
January 3: Woke up, went to academic league alumni match. I had an awesome time, met up w/ people that I haven't seen in a while. Dude, I miss the old ALeaguers. But its okay, of all the people (alumni) present, all the guys were science/engineering majors from relatively prestigious schools. Yet oddly, we lost horribly to the HS team. Not once, but THREE times. This is living proof that College makes students dumber.
After that, I hitched a ride off Justin to George's house for another random gathering. Only afterwards did I realize that he was sorta celebrating his bday. But it was fun there too. Sorry I missed the movie you guys! So as we ate, people shot BB's against George's garage door. Don't Ask. Okay....we went to fellowship afterwards....and it was one of the bestest college things that we've had in while. Simply because all previous college/friday nights were activities or socials. But Mary Ann spoke on the cost of being a disciple and whether I was willing to be entirely committed to God on campus, in my life, and in witnessing to others. An awesome challenge to start off the new year.
Saturday Night (January 4): College Info Night. I was on a Panel w/ Gav, Daniel, Janine, Shannon and Candy telling HSlers and their parents how to prepare for college at CBC. Hmmm....I heard that there were some parents of elementary school children there too....Talk about Asian. But I guess the main point was talked about, and that would be God. It was soooo amazing to hear God's name brought up in everything from school grades, extracurricular activities, community service, church activities, and college life experiences. While it was a "college info night", the part I enjoyed most was the sharing of remaining committed to God despite the temptations, challenges and freedom found in college. Hopefully parents will take it to heart and raise the HSlers according to God's will, and that the HSlers/kids will really remember God in their lives and glorify Him in their actions and walk.
Sunday....Church! :) Dr. TV Vorghese (spelling?) spoke on evolution, Part II...and it only confirmed my faith even more w/ scientific fact. Really glad that I was there, even though we have been focusing on evolution a lot these last few weeks. But it's okay, it will only strengthen the vision for the church this year in the Evangelism aspect. Hmm....sang in the choir during the worship service. That was pretty cool, I've never been up there on Sunday before, and it's really a powerful experience. Worshipping and serving God at the same time...always a priviledge. Afterwards, I started packing up my stuff to head back to school, while watching the 49er game. Awesome comeback. I'm sure Dalon was happy. :)
Now, I'm back at school, finished a tiring first day. Sniff. 4 four hour lectures in a 5 hour period. That's tough. Plus discussion(s) at night too. All well....I knew this quarter would be bad. So, instead of studying for chem, physics, math and hum, I'm writing an online journal that nobody will read. Eh. all well. I'm sure I can look back at this sometime in the future and wonder why I wasted so much time doing something like this. Until then, take care! :)

Wow....this has been the longest week ever. Even though I have been really excited to start school once again, the 18 units that I am currently taking will eventually take their toll on me. I'm literally overwhelmed by material to read and stuff to study. But anyways, things have been going great besides that school aspect. I'm beginning to feel plugged in w/ my fellowship, (I know, I'm bad at new beginnings) and tonight we had an awesome D 7:7 service. Charlene spoke about using our spiritual gifts and making it our responsibility to seek things out as well as to continually contribute to the body of Christ. Then there was an awesome time of worship...I just totally love worship at Crusade! Mellow music, but everybody singing at the top of their voices in a medium sized lecture hall....wow....it was just amazing. I could really just feel God working every week during the big group gatherings.
So, what else have I been up to? Well...finally went to all my classes. Discovered that all my professors and all my TA's speak English!!! I'm soooo happy! :) It's also really awesome to be able to already have friends in some of my classes. Now I won't be lonely. (ie: Gav in math, Eddie - my roommate, in physics and some people from MC in chem.) This year looks to be really exciting and full of potential challenges. But I know God will help me through everything, no matter what happens. Okays....it's not the 9th anymore, but rather, Friday the 10th, but its still the evening, so it constitutes as the 9th. It's time for me to go nite nite. So for anybody who's reading this (all 2 of you) gnite and as always....take care!
