March 3, 2003 Woah...it's 03/03/03 today! :) Anyways, a quick recap as to what happened this eventful weekend...Friday night, college group lead worship at CBC, it sounded good...and I definitely really enjoyed just leading worship and praising God. That night, started series on "Inductive Bible Studies" and after going through an overview as to how one is formatted, we finally decided on studying the book of Daniel. It should be good :) Okay, so I head back to UCSD w/ Dave cuz I had a chem discussion the next day, but we stop by Rodrigos for dinner. Sadly, I was way too hungry...to the point of fullness, I couldn't even finish a single serving of Carne Asada Fries. :( Anyways...I saw some Crusaders walk in (Manish, Chris, James) procrastinating from their GAP video...but that was pretty cool. Friday night at dorms...ended up just studying a bit, did my laundry on campus for the FIRST TIME EVER! And that was a fun experience. Saturday morning, studied and did chem hmwk, went over to chem review discussion then checked out the churches playing football at Muir Field. Its too bad CBC lost all its games...but the fellowship was great...So I hitch a ride w/ Amelia to go back home cuz I wanted to surprise my mom for her bday (so I couldn't go help out at Crusade's GAP night...which I heard was a very moving and great evening). We stop by 99 Ranch Market to pick up some food (where I also bought a bouquet of Orchids)...then we struggled to remember what Steve wanted Amelia to buy. Some chicken "fat-noodled" fried dish...so after much debate we realized that what we wanted was "Tsao He Fen" Dude...my Chinese skills have sucked more and more since coming to college. So at Steve's apartment, we ate or dinners, watched Mighty Ducks on TV, just sat around and relaxed, watched Steve prepare the power points for the youth worship, and just skimmed his photo albulms. In general, that was really a fun and enjoyable break from all the studying that i've been doing these last few days for midterms. Saturday night, I get home and surprise my mom who was watching TV with my grandma in the family room. Since they weren't expecting me to be home until tomorrow after church, my mom thought somebody broke in...hehe...but it was only me...and I felt it was a good surprise. I was rather glad that I went back home...cuz now that my mom is "old" hehe...not really...but ya....I think 50 is pretty old. Church on sunday...we started out w/ Sunday school, sharing our testimonies...it's always sooo powerful to hear other people share how God has worked in their lives. Really happy to have been there despite the smaller group. (5 peopel total) But thats okay, I enjoyed the more "intimate time". So the youth worship started Sunday (March 2, 2003) and from what I hear, there were more than 104 youths present...wow! My main concern was that the English congregation would be totally empty, but evidently that was not the case for there were also 145+ adults in the worship service. Wow...God really does provide and answer/address our concerns. Pastor Lam spoke on an awesome message about sin, the ways that Satan works and how to be aware of his cunning tricks...I really love it when I get to hear Pastor Lam speak...Okay, so I go back home, study some more for Chem midterm and read a bit for humanities paper. Later that evening, went to my mom's friends' house where they celebrated my mom's big FIVE-O, but I guess I just stayed upstairs and studied (i've done a lot of studying this weekend i guess) Finally, I get back to UCSD at around 11 and finish my matlab. Monday morning, nothing special. Just went to my classes and that was about it. However, the day was also dubbed as the "international day of prayer" so a whole bunch of crusaders met at "SunGod" to pray...what was awesome was that people from other fellowships saw us praying, so they just sat next to us and prayed with us. In fact, some other Christians who aren't in any particular fellowship just sorta saw us praying and joined us too! WOW! That was great! :) Monday evening, took Chem midterm (I think I did okay...hopefully...) and swung by AACF. However, I missed Geoff's message on the church due to the length of the chem midterm. Eh...tis life. Okay...so now, as I sit at my desk (Tuesday afternoon) I realize that God really has blessed me soooo much my whole life. This reflective stance is just something that I would like to sit and savor forever. :) Hmmm....what to do...what to do....how about take a break and just read the Bible!? I guess i'll do that right now then. Laterz everybody! |
