In every stare
Into every pair of eyes
Tells a story in which one can't imagine

In every life
And in every person
Contains many unpleasant secrets

You look and you see
And you know what you think
Yet its what lies beneath that counts

Hidden deep inside
Every innocent child
Contatins thick layers of pain

Because a broken heart
Like shattered glass
Cannot be put back together

So don't assume
That you know what you see
For looks are tricky and decieving

You don't really know a person
Unless you've been in their shoes
And go through what they go through everyday

Yet you live one life
And can only be one person
That it only wastes your time

To think and to wish
To be somebody else
Who suffers the same pain and torture

What's on the inside
May not be what's on the outside
For that is the lesson to be learned

Because in every stare
Into every pair of eyes
Tells a story that you may never know

u know...many times in our lives..we always wish to be someone else...when in reality....u don't have the slightest clue bout what they go through....personally..I don't think anyone's perfect...we all have problems...think about it...go ride up on a hot air balloon...and look below..each and every tiny little house that you see, behind those closed doors, everyone has problems....the person next door could be gettin raped while the mother in the house right across from you has bulimia.  Not to mention 3 doors down an innocent lil child has to deal with domestic violence.  Well this poem was actually an assignment, for the book The Prince and the Pauper.  But it still holds true....to me at least...Also, sometimes we spend so much time wishing to be that someone else, however we don't take the time to reach into ourselves and realize the beauty that we posess.
I WANNA GO HOME
