| A few weeks ago I went to visit my Grandma and Granddaddy. I know I was there before, but this time I got to spend a little more time with them. My three other cousins who live in the same town (Caedmon, Dara, and Brendan) were also there (along with their parents, Aunt Betty and Uncle Gunnar) and my Aunt Kathryn and Uncle Carl were there, too. It really was a busy time, but I did get some quality time with my Grandparents. As you can tell, Grandma likes talking to me (I'm looking forward to sharing secrets with her!) Granddaddy is a really good storyteller (something about the job he semi-retired from), so I'm looking forward to that also. The only problem with this trip is I didn't get any time with my Aunt Kathryn and Uncle Carl. Aunt Kathryn really likes babies, and she had two boys, so I'm sure she and I will get along really well (even if she and my Daddy kinda wore on each other when they were growing up -- I don't think she'll hold that against me). Uncle Carl is real tall and has a beard, so I want to get to know him better, too. Everyone keeps telling me that my Daddy used to have a beard, too, but right now his face is just scratchy most of the time. I'm looking forward to meeting my cousin Matthew. I keep hearing how tall and good-looking he is (I OBVIOUSLY am related to HIM) and what a great sense of humor he has. He's away at some college somewhere in the middle of the state, but he should be home soon. |
