These pages document some of the interesting birds we saw on our trip to the States in June-July 2005. This was a mainly non-birding trip to visit relatives in San Jose, California, and attend a wedding in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Birding was squeezed in here and there. The reports are divided essentially into two: California, including a "yard list" from San Jose, and Minnesota including observations from the Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park.
