CORNWALL
bodilly farm
The farm dates back centuries. A place that is surrounded by mystery, Bodilly is an isolated farm house in southern Cornwall where for as far back as anyone can remember strange things have happened.
Legend has it that there is treasure believed to be buried beneath the well within the farm house. To this day no one has been able to find it and most of the stories regarding it have been past down over the generations. Including one involving the first owners who were awoken one night to see children standing at the base of their bed. They informed the occupants of a hidden treasure and after experiencing this the family searched exactly where the ghost children had told them to look and there they found a well that they knew nothing about as it had been concealed by brush and earth. Climbing into the well to get the treasure the husband noticed there was a tunnel leading to some sort of cavern where the treasure was concealed. As he reached the treasure the
feeling the man sensed was pure evil - he felt there was something in that well that did not want him there. He came back out of the well as fast as he could minus the treasure. The well was then blocked off with a concrete slab.
It appeared that a curse had now been cast on the husband and it wasn’t long before he was killed in a mining accident. His ghost has been seen within the walls of Bodilly Farm. He is believed to appear very distressed from the witnesses that have seen him or felt his presence. To this day the well has not been found. The well seems to have vanished. Although there are many possible places that the well is rumoured to be on the farm, the mystery remains unsolved..
