| Considered to be among the most beautiful monastic settlements in Ireland, Tintern Abbey Is a popular picnic stop with tourists. It is also reputedly haunted by a phantom procession of monks, carrying flaming torches. The procession is sometimes seen approaching the great Gothic entrance door to the building late at night, accompanied by the mysterious and ghostly sound of their Latin incantations. |
