CHISENHALE STREET MURDER
Thomas Corrigan murdered his mother on 1st November 1873 following a drinking spree.

Returning home he assaulted several neighbours and members of his family before striking and jumping on his mother.

After being found guilty of murder the judge remarked on the enormity of the crime, Corrigan having killed someone he was 'bound to love and cherish'.

The execution at Kirkdale gaol was carried out by Mr Anderson, who replaced Calcraft following the mistakes made dueing the hanging of
James O'Connor.
