Robin & Helen Stevens have worked together in the field of Special Effects Make-up over the last 10 years. Together & separately, they have produced and created make-ups for Movies, Television, Haunted Houses, Educational Video Tapes, & Make-up Demonstration Programs at schools, fairs, & colleges.
Robin Stevens has over 40 years of experience as a teacher, make-up designer, costume designer, director, & performer. He has served as Make-up Director for the San Diego Civic Light Opera (Starlight), San Diego Museum of Man's Haunted Museum (1990-1992), & San Diego Junior Theatre. He holds lifetime teaching credentials for Jr. High through Jr. College in Drama, Stagecraft, & Make-up, & also holds a Masters Degree in these areas. He taught Drama & Stagecraft at El Capitan High School in Lakeside, CA for 14 years.
Robin has won awards for his costume designs, and created the first latex Suit of Armour, examples of which can be seen at the Trump Castle in Atlantic City.
Helen Stevens, like many others, grew up with Famous Monsters of Filmland Magazine, and has been studying Special Effects Make-up since an early age.
Currently, Robin & Helen are traveling all over the country teaching school children how to create their own unique and shocking make-up from everyday items.
The Stevens are the authors of "HOMEMADE HALLOWEEN", a do-it-yourself guide to strange & wonderful make-ups.
