St. Franciscus Group, was established on the 18th of January 1938, and was inactive since 1967. St. Franciscus Group has been re-organized on the 16th of August 1986.

In June of 1986, the opportunity to register your child as a Cub-Scout at the presbytery of Saint Francis Church, was announced in the parish of Oranjestad. June 16th of 1986, the plans to re-organize"Welperij" at Oranjestad were introduced at a Parent’s meeting by the District- Commissioner, Jan and the Assistant Commissioner Cub-Scout, Maria. In This way, the first Parent’s Committee was named by the Parent’s, together with the Akela and Bagheera. The preparations for the re-opening of Scouting movement in the Parish of Oranjestad took place on August 16th of 1986, with a Scouting Parade on the streets of Oranjestad, for the Groups of the Catholic Scout Foundation of Aruba. Saint Franciscus Group had 3 Akela, 1986, Akela Lidwina, 1988, Akela Betty (R.I.P.) and from 1993 till today Akela Annie Mariella Leest (Gilweller). Saint Franciscus Group had 3 Hopman (Scoutmaster) 1986, Hopman Facundo, 1988 Hopman Kenneth, and from 1994 till today Hopman Wendell Larmonie. Leader of the Group, Executive Scoutmaster Gabriel E Tromp. St. Franciscus Group went through positive processes in Scouting, which we are very proud of. In July of 1990, St. Franciscus had organized a 8-day trip to Venezuela for all his Boy-Scouts.  They stayed at The Bartolome Salom Vacational Camping Center, at Puerto Cabello. From there they visited different States of Venezuela. In 1991 St. Franciscus Group was awarded with the most important prize for the Arubian youth, Dr. B.M.Leito Youth-Cup, which was handed to, on the Queen Celebration day, April 30. Because of having received this important award Hotel Paradise Beach Villas, had also awarded the Group a complete drum band, as a token of appreciation at our Scouting Group. During 1991 St.Franciscus Group was forced to separate from the KV Aruba, and "Scout Catolico Arubano" has been founded and acts Independent till today. In 1992 once again      St. Franciscus Group was awarded with the stimulant prize Dr. B.M. Leito youth Cup, what we are very grateful and proud of. In 1995, St. Franciscus Group organized once again a trip to Venezuela, and stayed at the same Bartolome Salom Vacational Camping Center at Puerto Cabello. This was a successful trip for all the Scouts who went.  St. Franciscus Group counts on the Colony unit with 14 Beavers, and the Horde unit with 34 Cub-Scout, and the Troop unit with 48 Boy and Girl Scout, the tribe unit with 7 Rowans and 12 Scouting Leaders, St. Franciscus Drumband with 20 Scouts. We of St. Francicus Group, are honoring all his esteemed Old Scouts, with their names on our Web-Site, with great admiration for their Scoutive participation, what for them would be something really unforgettable, during their period as a Scout, Once a Scouts Always a Scout.
