Clean Out the Closets of Your Mind
By Delores Pressley
Have you had your CCM today?  That is what members of the Still I Rise Book Club are asking each other after the motivating session we shared lisstening to and discussing Delores Pressley's book.  CCM.  That's a Clean Closet Moment... a moment when the light bulb in your head goes off...when you say Aha to yourself, when you decide to turn thoughts into actions which lead to success.

And that is Delores' message to all of us.  We are born successful.  But before, we can realize our success, we must overcome the obstacles that our cluttering our mind and sweep the closets clean.  What are the obstacles.  One is TOXIC people.  You know the people who are always down, always complaining, always finding the bad in something good.  Get rid of them. Don't hang out with them.  Don't even talk to them.  Good advice.

Another obstacle is NEGATIVE  thoughts.  No, Never, I can't, Not today. Maybe Tomorrow.  Delores told us about the many negative thoughts she had to overcome to become a plus size model.  Today, she can look back on all of that negative advice she received telling her she was too big to become a top model and say I MADE IT!  Not only did she reach the top, but she is still climbing.

Many book club members stated that they normally do not like motivational books, however, everyone agreed that Delores has written  a book that speaks to everyone.  Its as if she can see into our closets and direct the broom to remove those dust bunnies that are holding us back.

Would we recommend this book to our friends?  You bet we would.  It is an easy read, complete with work sheets in the back.  Actually,  its meant to be read more than once.  Feeling in a rut, Clean Out Your Closet.  Applying for a new job and need a bit of encouragement, Clean Out Your Closet.  Whatever is holding you back from realizing your dreams, Clean Out Your Closet.

Book club members were so pleased to have Delores attend our meeting and share her insights with us, not only because she is a sistah and a homie, but also because she has written a damn good book.
