ERMA SMITH

I have recently retired from teaching in the elementary school. I have a passion to teach Native American children. I have started a grassroots program called "Grandma's Gift".  I read to a kindergarten class once a month and  take a snack and books from the Dollar Store.  Each child is given a book.  I enjoy the contact. I have made contributions to a program called "Books for Ghana" The progrm was started by a woman from Ghana who is starting libraries in Ghana. Can you imagine not having books to read? The people in this area of Ghana don't have books.

                                        "Still I Rise Book Club"
I love this theme; because it reminds me there are greater heights to be reached. Living isn't over until it's over. There are new things to be learned every day.
