Gentle sleep amidst a place
within a lullaby
Enveloped in the soothing sounds
lost in dreams tonight.

Journey through sub-consciousness
as troubles soon release
An inner calm embracing me
and where I feel at peace.

Crashing waves that soothe the soul
eradicate my mind
From all the things that burden me
and overwhelm my life.

Just one moment to myself
I close my weary eyes
And find that I am drifting off
to gentle lullabies.

Even when thoughts toss and turn
keeping me awake
The comfort for my tired soul
I find in calming waves.

Embracing me in sheer delight
replenishing my soul
I lose myself to pleasant dreams
and let them take ahold.

"I don't often fall asleep with the greatest of ease, and usually end up tossing and turning half the night!   But this poem is reflective in the sense that it is more than just the thought of closing your eyes and relaxing....it is losing yourself completely to the dream that soothes your soul.   Even in waking hours.   To lose oneself to peaceful dreams and letting them engulf me in such a way that I am completely relaxed and refreshed."
