Innocence so splendid
the nature of the young
Blessed naïveté
when life has just begun.

Hands joined in the wonder
and eyes that surely see
Birds that swoop the oceans
as children run with glee.

Sheer delight of beauty
whispers through the breeze
Engulfed by peaceful waters,
the calming of the seas;

Faces lit in radiance
the splendour of the young
As they race upon the surf and sand
and frolic in the sun.

Waters lapping at the edge
of playful running feet
Lost within the sands of time
engulfed upon the beach.

Suspended in reflections
those days of old we shared
A journey of a thousand ways
that takes us both back there.

Innocence so splendid
blessed naïveté
When you and I were everything
we ever dreamed we'd be;

Joyful childhood memories
shared between two hearts
Of life and love and all the things
that makes us who we are.

"This poem is about memories.   Reflections on childhood when one was young, to the carefree innocence and naivete to what life has now become.   The focal point here is the beach.   Reflecting on joyful times and fond memories shared on the beach, frolicking in the sun and running on the sand!   Sun and fun....and memories."
