Australia and the world unites
together now we pray
Reaching out to Asia in
a vast loving display.
For all those who have lost their homes
their lives won't be the same,
Where once they lived together
now sorrow just remains.
Out of the blue a tidal wave
wreaked havoc on the shore
A monster from the deep blue seas
snatched life up with its claws!
A tragic attack so merciless
that took all life away,
Destroying in its watery path
like a predator its prey.
So as our countries unite
in prayer we join our hands
Reaching out to show we care
though we can't understand.
God bless the ones who lost their lives
while running from the shore
From the monster crashing in the wake
of a life they have no more.
God bless the mother who felt her babe
ripped out of her arms
A tiny lifeless little form
now floats within its path.
God bless the father who fought to save
his 6 month baby girl
But still the sea victorious
now shattered his vast world.
God bless the children on the sand
who ran to see the waves
Without the comprehension that
they were racing to their graves.
God bless the thousands who were pulled
into the churning seas
The battered forms lay lifeless now
in the wake of Tsunami.
God bless those who watched the sight
from many miles away
The horror that engulfed them as
they saw life was swept away!
Yet what right have we to
question God's design?
Although we do no understand
still we wonder why;
So many lives destroyed within
the moments it did take
Tsunami to wipe a world away
within disastrous wake.
So let's not stand and point the blame
it goes too far beyond
What we could ever hope to learn
in the damage that's been done.
God bless all those left behind
reaching for the sky
Forsaken by an act of God,
why did they have to die?
God bless them in their sorrow as
a unity of forgiveness,
Joins together our prayers for all
who were lost this Christmas.
