Please pray for our Good Shepherd, Archbishop Emilius Goulet, Bishop of the Archdiocese of St. Boniface.

MASS INTENTIONS

Please remember to offer Masses for your special intentions; especially your departed loved ones.  Also, please pray for vocations to the priesthood and religious life in Canada.

We need to be close to Jesus Christ in his Eucharistic Sacrifice.

If you would like a Mass said, please see Father Joe.

Did you know that Pope John Paul II declared this year as the year of the Rosary?

To pray the Rosary is a way to be with Jesus and Mary.  We are meditating on their life from the Gospels.

You are invited to join us Tuesday-Friday 8:40 a.m. all year to recite the Rosary.

SIN: How it Changes People

Have you ever noticed how a little child can run naked through a room full of strangers without embarrassment? He is not aware of his nakedness, just as Adam and Eve were not embarrassed in their innocence.  But after Adam and Eve sinned, shame and awkwardness followed, creating barriers between themselves and God.  We often experience these same barriers in marriage.  Ideally a husband and wife have no barriers, feeling no embarrassment in exposing themselves to each other or to God.  But, like Adam and Eve (Gen. 3:7), we put on fig leaves (barriers) because we have areas we don’t want our spouse, or God, to know about.  Then we hide, just as Adam and Eve hid from God.  In marriage, lack of spiritual, emotional, and intellectual intimacy usually precedes a breakdown of physical intimacy.  In the same way, when we fail to expose our secret thoughts to God, we break our lines of communication with him.

In case of emergency, please call:

Father Ed Kosa in Carman @ 745-2204 or

Father Roland Prescott in Winnipeg @ 237-4098 or

The Diocesan Office @ 237-9851.  Thanks

Christmas is Coming!  The shoeboxes have arrived!

Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan's Purse that is aimed at providing international relief for children suffering around the world due to war, natural disaster, poverty, illness or neglect.  The international director of this project is Franklin Graham, son of Billy Graham.  It is a very worthwhile project that brings joy and the awareness of God's love to children in many needy countries.

There are brochures and shoeboxes in church today for you to take and use for Operation Christmas Child.  The deadline for returning them to church is November 9.  All instructions are contained within the brochure.  Please consider preparing a box for a child who is in need. If you would rather make a cash donation, that would be wonderful as well; we will use your donation to purchase items for more shoeboxes.  If you have any questions, please call Julie Kalinowski at 822-8023.

Thank you in advance for your generosity and compassion.
