WHAT IS IBC ? IBC is the St. Louis Area Inter-Branch Council of AAUW. There are 6 AAUW branches throughout St. Louis and St. Charles. They are listed below. The IBC is made up of representatives from each of these branches. Officers for the IBC are chosen from these branch representatives; two Co-Presidents, a Secretary and a Treasurer. The council meets 4 times a year (August, February, March and May) at Thornhill Library. The meetings are open to all interested AAUW members. The overall purpose of the Inter-Branch Council (IBC) is to meet with area AAUW branch members, get acquainted and share ideas and strategies to take back to our own branches. Besides the IBC sponsored Downtown Lunch and the Adelante book discussion group, the Annual IBC “Spring Fling” ("Convention Kickoff" this year) is held in early March. This is a very nice luncheon with a program and speaker for AAUW members and friends from all 6 branches. Responsibilities for the IBC Spring fling are rotated among the 6 branches each year. The IBC also selects an outstanding branch member from applications submitted by each branch. This AAUW Service Award is presented at the IBC Spring Fling. - Rose Buck, IBC Representative for Ballwin-Chesterfield Branch IBC CHAIR: Nancy Gerber IBC SECRETARY: Shirley Breeze IBC TREASURER: Carol Davis-McDonald |
