Continued,

KTKA Channel 49, Topeka's ABC network affiliate, is planning to terminate
its three nightly local newscasts, station sources confirmed Thursday.
Officials at News Source 49 declined to confirm the cancellations. An
assistant to general manager Bob Fulmer said the station would have no
comment until after a meeting this morning.  That meeting is expected to
involve Berl Brechner, the station's owner, and members of the staff.  But
station sources, who asked not to be identified, said newsroom employees
we re being told that the station was suspending most of its news gathering
operations. The last regularly scheduled newscast is expected to be at 10
p.m. on Friday, April 19. The station might still carry local weather
reports, sources said, but in what forum they would be featured remains
unclear.  KTKA, which went on the air in 1983, currently features half-hour
local newscasts at 5, 6 and 10 p.m. The station in the last two years has
moved into new facilities in west Topeka and completed a costly upgrade of
its towers to transmit a digital signal. The cutback leaves only two of
Topeka's four network affiliates with full newsgathering operations. Fox
affiliate KTMJ Channel 43 dropped its nightly newscasts when it moved its
studios from Junction City to Topeka last year. (Source - Topeka

-Congrats to KMXV (MIX 93.3)/KANSAS CITY Traffic Queen MACKENZIE and
cross-town WHB-A hubby JASON JUSTICE on the birth to ADAM (4/9).

-Changes for power house AM outlet WLS/890 in Chicago. Jay Marvin and Eileen
Byrne will team up to bridge the two-hour gap between Don Wade& Roma's
morning show and Rush Limbaugh's daily exercise in broadcast excellence.
Further good news: Jay will remain co-host of Chicago PM at 6pm, alongside
Bill Cameron and Jim Johnson. Greg Batton & Yvonne Greer will follow Bill,
Jim, and Jay from 7-9pm. (You'll recognize them as our Sunday morning
hosts.) If you're one of the many fans of Sean Hannity who wrote us, know
that your letters made a real difference; the hours of 9pm-Midnight will
belong to Sean Hannity of Fox News Channel's "Hannity & Colmes".

The following will be our weekday lineup starting April 15th:

12am-4am: Art Bell
4am-5am: Bloomberg Morning Money Report
5am-9am: Don Wade & Roma
9am-11am: Jay Marvin and Eileen Byrne
11am-2pm: Rush Limbaugh
2pm-6pm: Roe Conn & Garry Meier
6pm-7pm: Chicago PM with Jay Marvin, Jim Johnson, & Bill Cameron
7pm-9pm: Greg Batton & Yvonne Greer
9pm-12am: Sean Hannity
Unfortunately, these changes mean Dr. Laura will no longer be heard on WLS.
She has been an important and valued part of the growth of the Big 89 for
over six years. We wish her continued success. (Source WLS website)
